SLASHTONES' TEN Eleven YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR 2003 2004

Update: 04/10.03
The band's 10 year Anniversary of March 27th, 2003 has come and gone, but with the Slashtones, timing was never a factor. March 27th of 1993 was to be the "First & Last" performance of 'Harry & The Slashtons", a one night "joke" band on my brithday. In my own opinion, the band didn't really devolope it's true identity and become a real band until the summer of 1994. I don't see it as a big deal if we didint play live on March 27th of this year. So with that in mnd, read on...

The First Last Slashtones Rehersal
10/20/02
The "last" Slashtones recently gathered together for the band's first rehearsal and man, did it kick ass!. The new lineup rehearsing together for the first time far exceeded any of my expectations. The main lineup was rather difficult decision to make. For those of you that looked at the other sections of this website, you know that over the years, The Slashtones have had over 30 live and studio members over the years, with as many as 12 and never less than six musicians on stage. We're taking a different approach to the live show this time out and striping the band down to a minimalist level. Five prime players. Bass, drums, saxophone, guitar, vocals and some keyboards.

This will be the final series of live shows, so having the right combination of players in the band is most important. This will also be the first (and last) time most of the ECW tunes we recorded will be played live, alongside material from the Slashtones' original comical incarnation. While it is anticipated that we will be joined by several guests and old band members for certain songs, a majority of the show will be performed by the core band seen in these pictures.

The rhythm section of bassist Tony Moore (x-Roit) and drummer Steve Budgie (Ace Frehley) have both been in the band before, but never at the same time, Coming from similar backgrounds, the two grooved right away. Personally, I think this is the strongest rhythm section the band has ever had. Having Tony Moore back in the band gives us a second lead vocalist and another great song writer.

Naturally all Saxophone will be handled by Arno Hecht and he'll also be playing the clarinet on some tunes.
Roderick Kohn will be the lone guitarist for this tour, being joined on certain songs by selective guest guitarists. I'll of course be the lead warbler on most of the songs and will share keyboard duty with Tony Moore and Roderick Kohn.

The guests are being lined up, but none will be announced unless they're carved in stone confirmed. More updates will be posted after the next rehearsal. - Harry Slash
