Led Zeppelin Tribute Production Notes.
The SLASHTONES! have begun pre-production on several songs for a LED ZEPPELIN tribute CD due out later this year. The first song which will be getting a "Slashtonian" treatment will be 'Misty Mountain Hop' (from Led Zeppelin 4) which will include full horn section orchestrations conducted by Arno Hecht. Another yet to be determined song will be taken into the Mediterranean / middle eastern realm ala Page & Plant's 'Unleded" and a third song will be a strait forward rock cover, most likely fronted by RECKLESS FORTUNE. A fourth acoustic song is also being considered
Guns -N- Roses Tribute Production Notes.
Back in February of 2005, members of The Slashtones and Reckless Fortune entered the studio for the first of many collaborative efforts, recording two GNR covers for upcoming tribute CDs, the first of which, "Pretty Tied Up'", was released earlier this year. The other song, "14 Years" which features vocals by Joe Lynn Turner, will be seeing the light of day later this year, but it won't be the version recorded back in 2005. Due to the recent changes in both bands, as well as the higher standards of recording recently achieved on other collaborative projects, "14 Years" will be re-recorded later this Winter. Everyone currently involved in the project felt that the 2005 version would be taking a huge leap backwards after the recent CD releases.
The new Reckless Fortune recording will still feature dual lead vocals by Joe Lynn Turner and Frankie Fortune, rhythm guitar by Joey Fortune and bass by Adolph Marcellino. Returning Slashtones! members who recorded on the '05 version will include Steve "Budgie" Werner on drums, Arno Hecht on saxophones, Harry Slash on percussion, with Felix Hanemann added on piano and backing vocals. Other musicians are being considered as well. Pre-production has begun at Prime Time Studios in Yonkers, NY.
