Felix Hanemann joins The Slashtones!

Felix Hanneman, the bass, keyboards and backing vocals of "Zebra" and "Hindenberg" has been offered and accepted a spot in The ("New Original") Slashtones on keyboards!

Felix Hanneman was originally asked to sit in and replace Arno Hecht for one night on "The Joey Ramone Birthday Bash". We figured Felix could just play Arno's saxophone parts on keyboards. But after discussions amongst all the members of The Slashtones over the weekend, a permanent spot was offered to Felix, even after Arno returns to the fold later this year. Felix hasn't actually officially rehearsed with The Slashtones as a band, but he has worked with all the individual band members on various other projects including the band "Hindenberg" with Slashtones' drummer Steve "Budgie" Werner. Felix will make his worldwide live debut with the mighty Slashtones on May 19, 2006 at Irving Plaza in NYC.

Felix Hanemann also has the distinction of being the first and only keyboard player in Slashtones' history. While we have used keyboards, piano and hammond organ on various recordings over the years, it was usually Roderick Kohn, Tony Moore, (former member) Steve Bondy or myself playing the keys. Having Felix in the band opens up a whole new musical spectrum we can tap into including another great voice. I guess this now turns us from a "funny Led Zeppelin with a saxophone" into a "funny Yes with a Saxophone". Now if I could only sing like Jon Anderson...

Peace Out!
