RICHIE SCARLET is a musical virtuoso, know for his incomparable command of the guitar, but equally adept on bass or piano as well. Richie was born in Westchester, New York and his earliest musical influences were Jimi Hendrix and The Yardbirds.

Known for years for his guitar work, Richie Scarlet was recording his first solo album when he met up with former KISS guitarist ACE FREHLEY and was recruited into the original incarnation of FREHLEY'S COMET. (It was Ace Frehley that gave Richie the moniker of "The Emperor Of Rock & Roll".) Richie then went off on his own for a while and released the 'Hit For Hit' album as RICHIE SCARLET AND THE SEDUCERS. He returned to the Ace Frehley band for the 'Trouble Walking' album and continued to play and record with Ace Frehley until Ace reunited with KISS in 1996. (Steve "Budgie" Werner was also in the band from 1993 - 1996.) In-between tours with Ace, Richie played bass for Leslie West's solo tour and live album, "Leslie West Live".

In 1997 Richie Scarlet released his solo project 'Wise Guy From New York', featuring ex SKID ROW front man Sebastian Bach, former FREHLEY'S COMET alumni Steve "Budgie" Werner, John Regan and Anton Fig, and others. That February saw Richie's first, albeit brief, trip through "Slashland" as he joined Steve "Budgie" Werner and producer / songwriter Harry Slash on their first recording sessions for Extreme Championship Wrestling. Richie then joined up with Sebastian Bach's new band for the 'Bring 'Em Bach Alive' CD and tour. Later that year Richie, on bass, joined up with the ex-Alice Cooper members Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce and Neal Smith for a Rock Legends show and live CD 'Live At Area 51'.

Richie released more solo CDs in-between tours over the next few years, including "Out Of My Past", an album of songs he was influenced by, and the original "The Insanity Of Life", featuring such notable musicians as Ace Frehley, Leslie West, Ty Tabor of KINGS X, drummer Neal Smith and bassist Dennis Dunaway of the ALICE COOPER group, RAINBOW drummer Bobby Rondinelli, bassist John Valenti and drummers Anton Fig and Steve "Budgie" Werner.

The new millennium saw Richie Scarlet in (very) brief stints with legendary rockers Foghat and UFO and continuing to tour with his own band, releasing the live album, 'Richie Scarlet Live - Stage To Stage', with Larry Fisher on bass, Pete Gallanari on keyboards and Steve "Budgie" Werner on the drums. Richie then became the bassist for the reformed MOUNTAIN, alongside original members Leslie West and Corky Laing.

In 2009 Richie and Dennis Dunaway formed the band The 5th AVENUE VAMPIRES. They are currently recording their debut album at Prime Time Studios and recently performed a series of shows in the Northeast with ALICE COOPER. He also joined THe Slashtones as an "official member" in late 2009.

Richie Scarlet continues to play and record with his own solo band and is in the process of completing a new CD for release in 2010..
