PAUL SHEEHAN
PAUL SHEEHAN started out as the drummer of the Minesota based New wave band "New Math".

Paul realized that most major bands end up losing their drummers for one reason or another and made his way to NY to hook up with a major rock band. Unfortunately, Paul hooked up with the only band to have gone through more drummers than Spinal Tap, Raging Slab. Paul became their 16th drummer and recorded the Rick Ruben produced Raging Slab album, "Dynamite Monster Boogie Concert", which featured string arraignments by the legendary Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones.

Paul was one of the staff members at the infamous 'Space At Chase' when Harry Slash took over the club. He was one of the founding member when the original Slashtones made their debut on March 27 of 1993 at The Space At Chase. The Slashtones were inactive due to legal reasons from July 1993 to March 1994 and Paul Sheehan went on tour with Raging Slab.

Paul Sheehan returned to the Slashtones in March of '94 but Paul had injured his knee while on tour with Raging Slab and couldn't play a full drum kit. Harry Slash had booked a small tour at this time and couldn't cancel. He brought in Lez Warner on drums while Paul Sheehan temporally switched to percussion as his knee healed. The ban had also added a sax player and had changed it's style slightly towards a Jazz based sound, something Paul was very happy with. Paul would return to playing a full drum kit during the band's next incarnation, "The Slashtones Orchestra".

The Slashtones Orchestra consisted of four guitar player, two singers, two drummers (Paul and Lez Warner), two harmonicas, bass, saxophone and kazoo. 12 people and way too many notes. It was very chaotic, but the band refined it's musical direction towards satire and comedy. Paul was less than happy about the directional change, but continued to play and record with the Slashtones. The band dropped back to one drummer (Paul), three guitars, bass, sax, two singers and one harmonica during it's next incarnation. It was less chaotic on stage but still very problematic off stage. Paul was growing tired of the never ending recording sessions and the problematic live shows, but soldiered on and continued to perform with The Slashtones until March of 1995. Paul Sheehan resigned from the band in good standing after the Slashtones' April '95 recording sessions to pursue his musical interest in Jazz.
