Tony joined the Slashtones in 1996 on bass after a short stint with Harry Slash in a short lived band called "Life?!". Tony remained on bass with The Slashtons until early 1997 when Harry Slash changed the live format of satirical version of the band to an acoustic format. Tony was still involved as a vocalist in the new studio incarnation of "Life?!" (which would later be renamed "Harry Slash & The Slashtones") that recorded music used by the original Extreme Championship Wrestling. The live comedic satirical version of "The Slashtones" was reformed in late 2002 and Tony Moore came back in on bass. The band began recording an album of the comedic pop-culture mash-ups they performed live with Tony on bass and backing vocals in 2004 but the album was never compleated. In 2005 Tony Moores lead vocal effort in his other band "Faith & Fire'" was showcased on the band's debut CD "Accelerator", released in 2005, Faith & Fire also features Mike Flyntz of "RIOT" on guitar, drummer John Miceli from "Meatloaf" and bassist Danny Miranda who is currently in "Queen & Paul Rodgers". During this time, The Slashtones began alternating between the comedic tunes and recording interpertive covers of classic songs. While Harry Slash had the lead vocal spot on stage, he'd take the producer's chair when in the studio and would often hand over most of the lead vocals to Tony Moore. Tony sang lead and played bass on The Slashtones' interpertations of 'Pretty Tied Up' by Guns N' Roses', 'You Really Got Me" by The Kinks and was the main Tenor vocalist on The Slashtones' rendition of the Louis Prima classic 'Just A Gigolo / I Ain't Got Nobody' (alongside Harry Slash's baritone backing vocal fills.) Tony also played bass on The Slashtones' versions of 'Detroit Rock City" and 'Misty Mountain Hop'. (See "MUSIC" for individual CD info.) In late 2007 Tony Moore, Mark Reale and the other members of "Riot" during it's acclaimed "Thundersteel" era began talking about reuniting that lineup for "Thundersteel's" 20th Anniversary. The talks came to fruition in mid-2008 as that classic 1988 Riot lineup began writing new songs for a new CD and European festival tour starting with "Sweden Rock" in June '09. Tony Moore moved to California in August of 2008 to work on the Riot reunion and had to step down as the full time bass player of The Slashtones. While Tony is no longer a core member of the band he will eventually make sporadic live and studio appearances, time zones permitting. |
