Band Rosters 2000 - 2003

The God Complex Era

FOCUS CONCENTRATE 2000
Studio Band
(Late Dec. '99 to Jan. 2000)

Harry Slash: keyboards & bass - Nick Costas: drums, keyboards & loops - Jay Haze: guitar

Another fight with Roderick led to a pseudo reunion of one of my first bands, "FOCUS CONCENTRATE". I had lost contact with most of those guys long ago. Drummer Nick Costas read an interview I did and got in touch with me. He owned a studio in South Jersey, and he and his partner Jay Haze invited me down to record. We wrote and recorded a bunch of Techno/Industrial tunes, some of which were used as background music. Nick and Jay recently completed work on their first film score ("Pain") and used some of the tunes from those sessions.

We were asked to do a set at CBGB for Punk Magazine's 25 Year Anniversary party. The set consisted mostly off our ECW originals being performed live for the first time, but it was the old comedy tunes that stole the show. While I didn't know it at the time, this show would make me the proverbial "Fat Lady", as ECW itself had it's final show a few days later.

The Let's Combine All Former Bands And Members And End This Band Era

This was going to be the core band of what would have been an attempt to have every available past band member join the set when they were available.

The purpose of a the core band concept was to have a well rehearsed unit that someone could join in and perform with minimal rehearsal. The set would have consisted of 1/3 ECW theme music, 1/3 old Slashtones' fractured 'covers', and 1/3 original, new material. The core band wrote a few new tunes, ("Purplexion", "Cog In The Wheel") rehearsed most of the set once, figured out who'd else would be playing on what song before we'd beguin bringing them in. But then sh** happened that put everything on hold, again. But it seemed we reached perfection with the core band Slash, Kohn, Hecht, Moore & Budgie and scraped the concept in favor of the minimalist line up.
